Born Glenroy Washington in Clarendon, Jamaica in 1957, Glen began his musical journey in the early 1970s as the lead singer of the group Names and Faces, later joining 35 Incorporated where he also learned to play drums under the mentorship of Joseph Hill. His first hit, “Rockers Not Crackers”, came in 1978 via Joe Gibbs Records, but it wasn’t until 1998 that he returned to the charts with “Kindness for Weakness”, a track that helped cement his place in reggae history.
