Clive Hunt, born on May 31, 1952, in Linstead, St. Catherine, Jamaica, is a renowned reggae multi-instrumentalist, arranger, composer, and producer. He began his musical journey by learning the trumpet at Stony Hill Approved School and later joined the 1st Battalion Jamaica Regiment Band at the age of 17. Hunt's talent led him to work with Byron Lee's Dragonaires, touring North America and becoming a sought-after session musician.
Throughout his career, Hunt has collaborated with legendary artists such as Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff, Grace Jones, and Burning Spear. He has also worked with contemporary reggae stars like Jah Cure, Etana, and Queen Ifrica. His production credits include iconic albums like Satta Massa Ganna by The Abyssinians and We Remember Dennis Brown, a tribute album released by VP Records.
Hunt's versatility as a musician is evident in his ability to play multiple instruments, including bass guitar, flute, keyboards, and saxophone. Despite facing challenges, including a period of personal struggles, he has re-established himself as a prominent figure in the reggae music industry. His recent works include the instrumental album Blue Lizzard, released in 2020.
